| Persecute | To treat someone unfairly or cruelly over a long period of time because of their race, religion, or political beliefs, or to annoy someone by refusing to leave them alone. |
| Oppress | To govern people in an unfair and cruel way and prevent them from having opportunities and freedom. |
| Subjugate | To defeat people or a country and rule them in a way that allows them no freedom. |
| Abet | To help or encourage someone to do something wrong or illegal. |
| Arrogant | Unpleasantly proud and behaving as if you are more important than, or know more than, other people. |
| Catalyst | Something that makes a chemical reaction happen more quickly without itself being changed. |
